Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter on WPDE-TV which was located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In the following years, she worked as a morning-news anchor as well as a crime reporter at WCBD TV. Her reporting in Charleston regarding the leniency of police officers towards DUI cases led to the State Law Enforcement Division investigating these cases. Ms. O'Dell was recognized by The Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. O'Dell was then employed by NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as a investigative reporter prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role as a weekend anchor.
